Acrylic on canvas Available as a Limited Edition of 100 Giclee prints Original available This is my newest image- painted April ’25. On a recent (big birthday) trip to Paris, we were never very far away from the myriad galleries on offer to the culture lover in this great city. Once home I just had to open a relationship with a canvas and try to evoke the feelings that hit me in the fully immersive rooms of the Orangerie, where Monet presents a 360′ version of his celebrated Water Lilly series of paintings. These were gifted to Paris on the actual Armistice day after WW2. If you’ve not experienced this playground for the eyes, then try to fit it into your cultural schedule….needless to say, it was spellbinding. So, there I am, in the studio and looking to bring a piece of myself to a watery ski slope of acrylic paint. I have been a keen fisherman for years and have had the pleasure of fishing some fine chalk streams. Just stood there in the current, trying to concentrate on fishing and not the beauty of your environment… This painting takes me right there and evokes the illusion that there is no water between your eyes and the boulders at the bottom of the stream. But there it is, in all its watery glory, giving of that ironising feeling you get from absolutely clear and fresh water…a mineral aroma, if you catch my drift. Anyways, I hope you like this painting as much as I do.. Enjoy..S xx
